The
premises being considered are located close to Buxton
Market Place - an area presently under regeneration.
This
large building on the intersection of Market Street and
South Avenue is owned by Robinson Carpets. It has three
main floors plus a basement, and is partly occupied by
Buxton-4-Youth.
By
locating the proposed communal workspace in the centre
of Buxton it will promote the sustainable growth and regeneration
of the town, at the heart of the surrounding Peak District.
The
Magic Carpet feasibility study, to look at establishing
a creative base in Buxton, has been commissioned by Bridgehead
Arts Ltd - a newly-established company of artists who
aspire to increase participation in and enjoyment of the
arts in their community through networking and support.
This
study is being undertaken by High Peak CVS - an infrastructure
organisation supporting and facilitating the development
of voluntary and community groups through provision of
practical services and resources.
