GRID Member Vacancies
The GRID (Group Reference Influencing Development) is the county wide reference group for voluntary community and independent organisations who work with children and young people and looks at how their work relates to the Children’s Trust that oversees all work with children and young people.
They now have a vacancy for a VCI Grid Member in both High Peak and the North East areas of the County and would very much welcome someone from the VCI sector who works with children and young people in these districts.
This is an exciting time to be a GRID member as there are lots of developments taking place which ensures local groups have access to a range of information that supports them in their work with children and young people.
If you have any questions about the role of the GRID member after reading the information please contact Matt Ford on 01773 744741 ext 234.
>> Download related files for GRID election
The closing date for receipt of nominations is 13 February and votes have to be received not later than close of business on 27 February. |

Sector Taskforce Reports In
The Third Sector Taskforce set up jointly by charity chief executives body Acevo and the Department for Work and Pensions last summer has produced a report on the role of the third sector in welfare to work reform. A key recommendation is that the Government should press ahead with setting up a Social Investment Bank with a minimum of £250 million start up capital, but a smaller interim SIB should be set up to support the sector as soon as possible, to prevent years of good work from "withering on the vine".

New Campaigning Websites

From Charity Finance new alert, www.charityfinance.co.uk/home/content.php?id=2541
A campaign site has been started by the Bishop of Middleton on the changes in water charges for non-domestic customers, which could hit churches and charities particularly hard.
