Arts Development

Thanks to the financial contribution from High Peak Borough Council, CVS can offer arts development support to community groups, festivals and creative industries in the High Peak. Nigel Caldwell takes the lead on arts development.

Support includes information, advice and occasional training sessions on topics such as arts funding, marketing and event management.

Fire Effects - New Mills FestivalCVS helped to develop the online Festivals Toolkit which is a comprehensive guide to all the major issues in planning and running a festival. The Toolkit is located on the countywide arts website www.artsderbyshire.org.uk which is the portal for a vast range of arts related information such as events, artists, venues and festivals. Festivity is the countywide group promoting and supporting all Derbyshire Festivals.

Creative industries have been supported by creative business roadshows and training events and CVS maintain an artist’s mailing list used to regularly update artists on current information and opportunities.

Any High Peak artist can join the listing by providing an email address. Contact Nigel Caldwell at Tel 01663 736423. CVS has close working links with Creative Derbyshire – a programme to support local creative and arts businesses in Derbyshire (www.creativederbyshire.com).

We maintain a strong link with the countywide arts initiatives- the Derbyshire Arts Officers Group, the Arts Derbyshire group and Nigel Caldwell is the voluntary sector representative on the Derbyshire Culture Board.
