Small Group Project Co-ordinator

37 Hours per week, Scale 6 Point 26-28 £21412 (Pay Award Pending)

This post is part of the High Peak CVS Development Team which promotes and supports the development of the voluntary and community sector in the High Peak. Further details can be found on the SGP page, including a download of the latest and past newsletters.

The specific focus of this post is to develop and support small voluntary and community sector groups in the High Peak, and in particular those which are disadvantaged, marginalised or rurally isolated, in particular to advise on the organisation of small voluntary and community groups, for example, with respect to planning and financial skills, charity law and registration, constitutions, equal opportunities, running meetings, committee and group work skills and other relevant issues.

EMDA Third Sector Advisor Vacancy

£31,040 to £36,148 per annum plus benefits

This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution as you'll lead on the continued development and delivery of our policy in relation to the third sector (voluntary and community sector and social enterprise) and community cohesion. You will lead on our relationships with relevant Government departments and key regional stakeholders from
the statutory and third sectors. You'll also use your skills to provide training, advice and information to other EMDA colleagues.

EMDA are looking for someone with experience of the voluntary and community or social enterprise sectors, including experience of a third sector infrastructure body. You'll need an understanding of relevant strategies, policies and programmes, infrastructure issues, the role of assets in supporting community-led economic development, community cohesion and community development issues. You'll have developed innovative approaches to partnership working too.

Community Outreach Worker

Community Concern Erewash
£8 per hour 30 hours per week

Domestic Abuse is often a lonely, silent problem for the victims. Community Concern Erewash are looking for a Community Outreach Worker to pilot an innovative preventative project aimed at raising awareness of the issues amongst women, identifying the support available and working with women to address their issues.  In addition to this the successful candidate will work with service providers to raise their awareness of the signs and symptoms of Domestic Abuse and assist them to look at new approaches to deal with these issues.

If you want a challenge, have good communication and organisational skills, have worked either as a volunteer or in a paid capacity with victims of Domestic Abuse, can set up a women’s support group delivering activities including the Freedom Programme (training will be provided October 15-17th - successful candidate must be available for this unless they have already done this training.) and have the experience/ability of achieving results in a multi-agency / partnership environment , this is an opportunity for you.

Healthier Structures Development Worker

Hours of work 18.5 hours per wk for 1 year

Are you interested in health and social care in Derbyshire?
Would you like to help voluntary and community groups promoting wellbeing in the county to work effectively with the NHS and County Council?
Then this one year post is for you. Your role will be to explore the way in which existing liaison in Derbyshire, between the voluntary sector and health and social care related statutory agencies, works and to develop options for improvement.

NDVA are looking for someone who is a self-starter who can use their own initiative. Experience of dealing with a wide range of people, being able to draw from them constructive ideas and report this information in a quantitative and qualitative way will be essential. You must be able to develop your own understanding of specific issues and services, involving some personal research.

You will need good communication and negotiation skills and have the ability to maintain computerised records of your activity and contacts.
                       
Base to be mutually agreed, but the post will be managed from Chesterfield and require travel throughout Derbyshire.

Home-Start High Peak are looking for volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to visit a family once a week and offer friendship and support. Home-Start volunteers provide a lifeline for many parents who are struggling to cope, helping them to gain in confidence and give their children the best possible start in life.

As a volunteer, you could offer an extra pair of hands to a family with several children or a family dealing with a disability.  You might provide a listening ear to a mum who is suffering post natal illness or feeling lonely.

St John Ambulance Needs You!

Derbyshire St John Ambulance is looking for new members and leaders in the High Peak area for divisions in Buxton and Glossop.

From Cadets (aged 10-18 years) and adult members, to youth leaders and people to lead the division, all volunteers are welcome.

St John Ambulance is the UK’s leading first aid charity. Our 1,200 Derbyshire volunteers are committed to training, caring and saving lives. We’re also one of the country’s largest youth organisations with more than half of our members aged under 25, with Badgers aged 5-10 and Cadets aged 10-18 years.

Our volunteers provide first aid at high profile local as well as national events and provide support to the statutory services, especially in times of emergency.

Volunteers are vital to our success. Volunteer for us and you will make a real difference to people’s lives, get to go to great events for free and make a whole new circle of friends. We also have a division in Whaley Bridge.
