Derbyshire Community Foundation is currently seeking a Grants Officer, on a short term contract basis (until 31 December 2010), with the possibility of extension.
Salary £19,000 to £24,000 p.a. – 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
The role includes some evening work.
The Grants Officer will have a major role in the delivery of our Grassroots Grants programme. The role will involve promotion of the fund, support of applicants, and the assessment of applications received as well as presentation of funding bids to decision making panels. The role requires excellent communication and people skills, the ability to interpret data to produce reports of a high quality, a sound understanding of the voluntary and community sector and preferably some experience of grant making, although a background in developing funding bids would also be useful.

This is a unique opportunity to help to transform the environmental economy of the Peak District National Park. The Senior Officer will work with individuals, local businesses, community groups and networks to help them develop new products and services, ideally based on the creative use of the high quality environment as a business asset.
You should have a degree or equivalent which you can show is directly relevant to the duties of the post (e.g. Environmental Studies, Business Studies etc) and a sound understanding of sustainable development principles. A minimum of 3 years in each of the following areas is preferred:

- To support the work of the Regional ICT Champion for the East Midlands.

Water for Wildlife Project Manager

Relief Children and Young Person’s Domestic Abuse Services Worker
To provide relief cover for staff absence across children and young people’s refuge and outreach services as required, supporting children and young people in families where domestic abuse has been identified. Applicants must have NVQ3 in Childcare or equivalent, as well as experience of working with children and young people in a supportive environment. They should also be able to demonstrate an understanding of domestic abuse and its impact upon women and children. A degree of flexibility is desired to meet the needs of the project, covering for the absence of permanent workers. The rate of pay is £8.16 per hour.
Relief Adult Domestic Abuse Services Worker
To provide relief cover for staff absence across refuge, advice centre and outreach services as required, supporting families where domestic abuse has been identified. This may be housing related support to women resident in our two refuges or telephone or face to face support via outreach or our Advice and Drop in centre. Applicants need to have an understanding of the issues around domestic abuse and its impact upon women and children. They should also have some experience of working within a supportive environment. The post will support and co-ordinate the work of the team of Community Development
Workers employed by Black and Minority Ethnic agencies across Derbyshire. The
postholder will work closely with the employing organisations to develop and deliver
training for the Community Development Workers, support them to raise awareness of
mental health in BME communities and help them to influence staff in partner agencies
to improve and develop practice in mental health service delivery to people from BME
communities.

They are seeking 2 energetic self-starters to develop and implement these new volunteering

Youth Arts Development Worker at High Peak Community Arts
New Post: 21 hours per week – 60% FTE
High Peak Community Arts are looking for someone with the experience, vision and energy to take forward our strategic programme of Youth Arts Development across the High Peak of Derbyshire.
You will have a flair for working with young people on ambitious projects in different settings, an ability to engage with schools, youth groups and other agencies working in the sector, and the staying power to see projects through.
As well as project management skills you will have a recent track record in hands on delivery of creative activities in either music or digital media, and the trick of knowing when to make use of those skills and when to devolve them to other creative artists.
High Peak Community Arts has a board of trustees, and a part time staff of four who all share equally in the running of the company. You will be able to work comfortably in this environment; and will take joint responsibility with the board and staff team for the ongoing development of the company.

This post is for a trial / temporary period only.
This post will require you to work as a Personal Assistant to a lady in the Buxton area. You would be required to assist her with her paid employment using her car to drive her to and from various places of work in the High Peak district. A clean driving license would be essential. You would need to load and unload tables, display stands and boxes to and from her car and set them up or take down at various events she attends as part of her work. You may also be required to assist in serving drinks at the events.
You would need to have clear, legible handwriting and basic office skills to take notes and keep records for her. It would be essential to keep client information and records confidential at all times.
No personal care would be required but flexibility and a willingness to support the employer with any assistance she requires would be essential.
Work would start between 9am and 10.30am depending on the day’s schedule. You would be required to work four hours on Monday, 6 hours Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with a late afternoon or evening shift approximately once per month. There will also be occasional work on Saturdays or Sundays so a willingness to be flexible would be an advantage.

Purplezebra, a new social enterprise IT company providing technical
support to the Voluntary and Community Sector, is seeking two
Support Engineers. The posts will be employed and managed by Purplezebra,
and will be primarily operating on a mobile basis, one in central
and north Derbyshire and one in Nottinghamshire.
The IT systems engineer will provide a reliable and efficient
IT support service to clients in the voluntary sector, and will
include mobile site visits and staffing of call centre facilities.
The successful applicant will have experience of working with
a whole range of Microsoft Windows technologies in a standalone
and networking environment, with specific emphasis on the installation
and maintenance of such systems including domains and workgroups.
Knowledge of broadband technologies such as ADSL, satellite, cable
and associated hardware and the ability to handle all common computer
programs and tools is desirable.
