Village SOS Community Retail Seminar

Find out how your community can benefit from the Village SOS Campaign.

Friday 20 November 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm at Clifton Smith Village Hall.  Booking is essential.

This seminar is aimed at rural communities that lack a village shop or at risk of losing an existing village shop. This VSOS seminar will explain how they can find a solution to address this problem.

Across the country, communities are increasingly coming together to find ways to restore or rescue much-needed services such as shops, pubs, libraries, etc. Many talented communities are meeting the demand for services, by creating viable community-owned-and-run businesses that are called social enterprises.

This FREE Seminar will:

  • Explain how VSOS can help in the development of a community enterprise
  • Present the ‘Speedy Shop’ solution - Peter Fox, CEO VillageVending
  • Visit Clifton’s own ‘Speedy Shop’ at the Cock Inn
  • Hear how a Community Shop was established at Grindleford  - Sarah Battarbee
  • Look at potential ways to establish a community-owned enterprise
