The Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s new Youth Fund offers grants of £10,000 - £60,000 for projects lasting up to two years focused on helping marginalised young people aged 14-25.

The fund will pay for core operating costs to help grow an organisation’s impact. Examples of things you might put the money towards include:
- part-fund the salary of a key individual, whether the Chief Executive or a post such as a Head of Operations/Finance
- additional fundraising or income generation capacity
- upgrading IT systems or website to reach young people online
- installing a new database to capture data on the organisation’s impact
- staff training or development
- running costs such as utilities and other bills
- policy work

Registered charities can apply for a grant of up to £5,000 for a specific project that helps disadvantaged people.

The funding can be for capital costs such as equipment or revenue costs such as to pay for the costs of a part-time sessional worker.
To apply, just visit any Santander branch and complete a nomination form. The completed form should be dropped into the box provided in your local branch.
There are no closing dates and entries will be regularly considered by a panel of staff drawn from across the region. Successful charities will be notified within 2 months of submitting their nomination.

Through its new UK Main Fund, Comic Relief will provide funding for activities that create positive social change across the UK.

To be eligible for funding projects must address at least of five themes. These are:
- Supporting young people that face challenges and have limited opportunities
- Support people who face violence, abuse and exploitation
- Supports those in severe financial hardship
- Supports disadvantaged communities
- Aims to empower and give a voice to marginalised groups of people, so that they can challenge injustice and bring about positive changes for those who face discrimination and stigma.
The funding will be available to registered charities and other not for profit organisations that operate England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Although there is no upper limit to the level of funding available, Comic Relief expect most grants to fall between £10,000 and £40,000 (per year for up to three years).

Local firms can apply individually or as a group to connect bigger or more complicated premises such as an office block. If their application is successful, businesses would need to pay for the line rental and VAT.
The broadband Connection Vouchers scheme will be administered locally on behalf of central Government by Derby City Council. Taking place over 25 hours on 2 and 3 October in central London, the Hackathon will see 12 teams of up to six people develop an app that encourages a specific demographic to be more physically active.

The event is free to enter and the winning team will receive a £10,000 bursary from Sport England. Each team, with the help of mentors, will create their app with the last hour of the Hackathon seeing them present their concept to a judging panel. Three finalists will be selected with the winning team announced at the Sports Technology Awards in April 2016.
Anyone based in the UK over the age of 18 can create a team and enter but each team must include at least one woman. Applications to participate close at 5pm on 7 September 2015, with successful teams having their place on the Hackathon confirmed on 11 September 2015.
