The Fund has 3 Key Strands
1. Improving people’s understanding of crime, alcohol, drug and solvent abuse. Addressing these social problems through educating communities and offering projects reducing the risks. The panel will prioritise projects targeting children and young people affected by these issues or at risk.
2. Projects that help create safer communities and help prevent crimes in neighbourhoods. There will be a particular focus on supporting young people to keep safe and providing solutions to anti-social behaviour.
3. Consideration will also be given to projects and organisations, which the High Sheriff Fund panel, at their discretion, believes to be worthwhile.
The maximum grant is currently £1,000.

Fund to support local community groups that are undertaking craft based projects in rural areas and getting local residents together to develop skills and build friendships.

The Fund makes one grant of around £500-£1000 every year, selected from the hundreds of applications received from across Derbyshire.
There are no closing dates for the fund, the decision is made by the grants committee meeting once every 12 weeks. All groups are encouraged to speak to Foundation Derbyshire before applying.

As Healthwatch Derbyshire approaches its second birthday they have developed a short questionnaire to capture the views of the public, community groups, partner organisations and professionals about their organisation.

They want to know what you think about their performance and explore any suggestions you may have that could support them in achieving their goals.
The results of the questionnaire will help them to identify what they are doing well and not so well, and will be used to influence the way that they work in the future.

Community Survey

Chinley, Buxworth and Brownside Community Association, on behalf of the Community Vision Project Team, are seeking to appoint a consultant/company to undertake an independent evaluation of community buildings, following an extensive public consultation regarding community and leisure activity in the parish.

The findings of the evaluation will help to determine the next steps, and be used as evidence in funding bids to improve the buildings in the future.

Buxton and High Peak Samaritans is looking for people who would like to make a real difference to the lives of people going through tough times.

They are one of many branches throughout the UK offering support to callers in distress or despair - by telephone, email or face to face. They would like to increase their number of listening volunteers. In-depth training is availoable to help you develop the necessary skills.

Blythe House Hospice, located in Chapel en- le Frith, and Bakewell based charity, Helen’s Trust, are inviting dog lovers across the region to join them on Sunday 19 April at Fernilee Reservoir in a 3 mile sponsored dog walk, in order to raise funds for people with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions across North Derbyshire.

The event promises to be a fun-filled family day out, with free treats for both doggies and children, and can be entered on the Helen’s Trust website, or through a registration form, available from Blythe House Hospice.
All well behaved dogs on leads are welcome on the walk, and there is a suggested registration fee of £10 for adults and £5 children, and a family of two adults and two children can register for £20.

The London Community Foundation has launched of the Santander Social Enterprise Development Awards (SEDA) for 2015 - a national community investment programme, to help support growing social enterprises and enterprising charities working for the direct benefit of their community.

Prizes of between £5,000 or £10,000 are available to help Registered Charities and Community Groups grow their enterprise activities and services under one of the following social outcomes: improving social inclusion, supporting disadvantaged people through skills, training and employment, or creating a greener environment.
In addition to the financial awards, the winners will also have access to a business support programme including; the opportunity to have a three month intern working in the organisation to help implement enterprising growth plans and specialist social enterprise consultancy support from Inspire2Enterprise.
