Weston Charity Award are about to launch a new round.

This is the third year the Weston Awards have been run and again they are expanding to help more charities. The Awards provide unrestricted core funding alongside free capacity-building support, and are designed to benefit smaller charities.
The Weston Charity Awards celebrate and support excellent charities working in the fields of Youth, Welfare and Community. This year, the awards are expanding to support 18 charities across the North East, North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands.
Weston Award winners will receive £6,200 unrestricted grant funding alongside business mentoring support from capacity-building charity Pilotlight. The purpose of the award is to support ambitious charities personally and financially so they can achieve their goals.

The Finnis Scott Foundation makes grants of £500 - £10,000 in the areas of:
- horticulture and plant sciences
- art
- art history
Because of the history behind the trust, art is likely to refer to paintings or sculptures - some substantial grants have been made to museums and galleries.
Preference is given to making grants to smaller charities where the grant would have a significant impact. The Foundation funds both capital and revenue projects, with £262,000 given out last year.

Help the Homeless gives grants of up to £5,000 for capital costs to small and medium-sized charities - those with a turnover of under £1m per year. All applications must relate to projects that help people in their return to mainstream society, rather than simply offer shelter or other forms of sustenance.

The closing date for the Tesco Local Community Scheme has been extended until 12 noon 11 December.

The Tesco website details that there will be further rounds next year. This fund will be of interest to: Voluntary or community organisations, Schools, Health bodies (Primary Care Trust, NHS Hospital Trust, Foundation Hospital), Parish/Town/Community Councils and Local Authorities which want to do outdoor improvements e.g. open access sports facilities, multi-use sports areas, trim trails… and are open to the public for at least 6 days of the week.
