News: Health and Wellbeing Data Masterclass

The next Health and Wellbeing data masterclass sessions for third sector organisations are scheduled to take place in Derby and Nottingham in March 2018.

The training session is designed to equip staff and volunteers working in local third sector organisations to access, understand and apply a range of freely available public data sources to support business development activities. The session will reveal how organisations can freely access a range of data sources that illustrate health and wellbeing trends affecting communities across England.

News: Partnership Engagement Network Conference

Would you like to hear about and contribute to the development of local services in Tameside and Glossop?

Tameside Council, Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group and Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are committed to working in partnership with the public, stakeholders, partners and organisations in the voluntary, community and faith sectors.

The Partnership Engagement Network enables everyone to play an active role in developing the approaches that we take in the delivery and commissioning of services.

The next Partnership Engagement Network Conference will cover:

  • Presentations from key speakers, including the first joint Engagement and Consultation Strategy for Tameside and Glossop
  • Workshops on specific local programmes and developments

News: Rotary Club of Buxton 50:50 Charity Swimathon

10 March, 3.30pm-6pm, Buxton Swimming Pool.

Swim for half-an-hour and raise money for your cause or charity and ours!

FREE Team Entry (4 members). You keep half the sponsorship you raise for your cause/charity, the other half goes to the Rotary Club Charitable Trust Fund to help build Sand Dams in South-east Kenya to provide clean water and other local benefits.

Entry, sponsorship, and parent consent forms (for those under 18 on 10 March) can be downloaded via the link below, where there is more information, or obtained by contacting organiser Rotarian David Hopkins (t: 01298 23359; or by collecting them from Buxton Podiatry Practice, 1 A Hall Bank, Buxton. Entry and parent consent forms need to be with David Hopkins by 3 March. If your cause is not a charity, still use the sponsorship form and encourage your sponsors to Gift Aid as the Rotary Club can claim Gift Aid on our half-share.

News: Nutrition and Hydration Week

To celebrate Nutrition and Hydration Week 2018 (12 18 March) DCC are holding an event in the Council Chamber at County Hall Matlock on Thursday 15 March.

There will be a number of speakers and demonstrations covering topics such as food fortification, the new texture modified food descriptors, finger foods etc.  It will be open to all - Managers, catering staff, volunteers and carers.

Spiltmilk Dance will be doing their performance called The Little Love Cabaret. This is a great event and one Spring Bank Arts are excited to be hosting. The event is helped organised by Live and Local.
