Townend Community Garden Need New Manager!

Could you be the next carer of the Townend Community Garden?

An amazing new volunteering opportunity has come up for a manager of a beautiful garden in Chapel en le Frith.

Ideally, the rewarding role would be shared across two people such as a retired professional gardener or experienced amateur gardener who has an interest in gardening for biodiversity. A key part of the role will be to work with our lovely volunteers to support adults with physical or mental health issues, adults with learning disabilities and lonely, isolated older people.

Townend Community Garden sits in a lovely position in a quiet residential area of Chapel. It has been landscaped to create a variety of areas for the local community to enjoy, whether it’s to help grow flowers, fruit and vegetables, to promote biodiversity in our wild areas, or simply to sit and be peaceful for a while in a quiet corner of the garden.

The community garden needs you!

You could be part of something monumental in Chapel village that is a huge resource to so many. If you can only do part of the role, just get in touch with Mary and they can see how to best accommodate!

If you can't commit to the full manager role, there are many smaller volunteer roles the gardens require to continue.
