Why Become a Member?

Our aim is to support, encourage and promote community and voluntary sustainability across the district. We do this by providing your charity, organisation, voluntary or community group with all the necessary advice and support you require to reach its full potential.

Whether it’s supporting you with setting up a committee, accessing funding or taking part in training and network opportunities, our membership offers a fully accessible range of services and guidance that is available exclusively to our members.

Who can become a Full Member or supporter of High Peak CVS?

Full Membership is open to all voluntary and community organisations working within the High Peak including:

Businesses and individuals who share our commitment to empowering local communities can join us as a Corporate Partner or supporter. 

What does a Full Member Receive?

Our Development Team, with assistance of our wider expert team, will be available to advise and support your organisation in a variety of ways, including (but not exclusively):

  • Access to ‘members only’ resources on our website comprising guidance documents and useful templates to support the effective running of your organisation.
  • Advice on identifying the need for your group and defining your objectives
  • Guidance and training to help you write your constitution and governing document.
  • Help defining the roles and responsibilities of committee members
  • Training, advice and mentoring on running effective meetings.

Our team can help you identify and access various grants and other funding streams, as well as provide expert advice on the application process:

  • Help identify relevant funding.
  • Advice on Bids and Tenders.
  • Guidance of how to write a strong application / tender proposal Guidance on effective management.
  • Advice and support on setting up a new group, governance structures, policies and procedures, business planning*, project management and charity registration*.
  • Introductions to other members to share knowledge, resources and best practice.
  • Opportunities to advertise paid job vacancies on the High Peak CVS website.
  • Promote your organisation and services via our regular e-newsletter, small group project newsletter and social media accounts.
  • All training, events, equipment hire and additional services at a discounted rate.
  • Receive regular e-newsletter containing local news and funding alerts.
  • Support with press releases to share your news and achievements.
  • Opportunities to link with our Corporate Partners to access discounts on services, training, volunteers and much more.
  • Opportunity to attend and vote at our Annual AGM to help direct our service (1 vote per group).
  • We can also offer extra services to our members that may incur an additional cost e.g. (completing a funding application). All these will be available at a discounted rate for members.

  • Support in identifying appropriate funding and grant opportunities for your group and helping you through the process.

  • Training, advice and mentoring for general group governance and sustainability.
  • Certificate and digital members badge to use on your material to show our partnership.
  • Advertise paid job vacancies and volunteer opportunities on our website and newsletter.
  • Advice and support setting up a new group
  • Introductions to other members to share knowledge and resources.
  • Promote your organisation and services via our regular e-newsletter and social media accounts.
  • Support with press releases and communications to share your news and achievements.
