Children and young people's mental health wellbeing grant
In recent years, there has been a significant rise in mental health challenges among children and young people, particularly exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, social pressures, and increasing academic demands.
National statistics show that:
- 1 in 6 children aged 5-16 had a probable mental health disorder in 2021.
- Half of all mental health problems manifest by the age of 14.
Despite these concerning figures, there is a significant gap in early intervention services, which could prevent problems from escalating.
Derbyshire County Council Public Health have provided a grant scheme aiming to address and reverse some of these issues within the High Peak and are inviting community groups to apply!
How much can you apply for?
Projects – Up to £2000

What do you need to show on your application form?
- Information on what you will deliver with the grant money. This needs to be specific about what you plan to do and how the money will be spent.
- Evidence of how the project meets the needs of young people or the young person and that the work is needed and/or wanted by the intended recipients
- How you will know if your project has been successful. For example, what impact do you expect the project to have and how will you evidence this.
