The latest round of Public Health Small Grants Scheme for High Peak is now live!

The Health and Wellbeing Partnership in the High Peak is a core strategic group that comprises representatives from a wide range of organisations to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities across the High Peak.

To help achieve this, the partnership has set up a Small Grants Scheme, which will target help and support to local voluntary and community groups and organisations delivering activities and projects at grass roots level.

How much can you apply for?

Constituted Groups – Up to £1000.

Non-Constituted Groups – Up to £500.

Who can apply?

Any voluntary/community groups or local people within the High Peak area (see map on guidance notes), who come together to support the health and wellbeing of their community are eligible to apply for funding.

For example, your group might be a luncheon club, a social group, a self-help group or another type of community group that provides help and support.  You might want to set up a new group to meet a local need that’s currently not being addressed.

We want to hear from people who would like to make a difference to their community.  Whether you are a formal group with working rules or a group of friends with a good idea; please think about applying!

Speak with HPCVS for advice and if the application is successful, we can support you to deliver your project.

Projects should aim to meet the following criteria:
What sort of activities or projects could the Small Grants Scheme support?

Examples such as:

  • befriending/buddying
  • activities that support isolated people
  • activities that help improve mental health and wellbeing
  • financial projects e.g. that help people manage their money better
  • setting up a sports team or organising a community sporting event
  • setting up or extending services offered by an existing luncheon/social club
  • a cookery/shopping network
  • a community garden or growing scheme
  • a health-related community event
What do you need to show on your application form?
  • Information on what you will deliver with the grant money. This needs to be specific about what you plan to do and what you will spend the money on.
  • Evidence of how the project meets the needs of people in your community. This can be as simple as having a list of people already waiting to get involved in the project.
  • How you will know if your project has been successful. For example, what impact do you expect the project to have on people in your local community?
  • How the project will contribute towards one or more of the High Peak Health and Wellbeing Partnership Priorities.
  • How your project will continue to benefit local people into the future.

The deadline for the first round will be Saturday 31st January 2026. The panel will aim to meet on a regular basis to make decisions on applications.
