Expanding Bereavement Support Services in Buxton

We're proud to announce the expansion of Bereavement Support Services
in Buxton with the introduction of a new evening group.

This group is designed to offer support to adults navigating the difficult process of significant loss, and it builds on the success of the existing daytime group, which has been running in Buxton for over three and a half years.

The Buxton daytime group has become a vital support group for many, providing a safe space for individuals to share their grief and receive the comfort and understanding of others facing similar challenges. One member of the daytime group reflected on its value, saying, “You’re not alone in this life experience, it’s like the group is with you giving you extra strength. We walked this walk as a group, that’s the strength of it.”

The evening group is designed to address the needs of those who are unable to attend during traditional hours due to work, caregiving responsibilities, or other personal commitments.

The service is open to adults who have experienced significant loss and would benefit from the shared understanding and guidance that a group setting provides. The groups are referral-only, including self-referrals, to ensure the service we offer is understood and is suitable.

In addition to the Buxton group, the High Peak CVS Bereavement Service operates five other groups across the High Peak with groups also available in Glossop, Chapel and Hope Valley.

For more information about the service either call us on 01663 735350 (Option 3), email at bereavement@highpeakcvs.org.uk or for more information and other resources, visit our website highpeakcvs.org.uk/bereavement.
