With the return of our AGM meeting this year, nominations for our Crompton & Woodcock Award have opened!
Do you know a deserving group who you would like to see gain recognition for all that they do? Or do you work alongside an organisation who inspire you and the local High Peak community.
The award celebrates community-led groups and, in particular, a group that is shown to have made a significant impact with their service and activities in the last 12 months.
In memory of previous chairpersons Chris Woodcock and Mike Crompton, the award will offer local groups the opportunity to raise their profile and gain recognition for the hard work they do.
Groups can nominate themselves or be
nominated by someone else
High Peak CVS, based in Whaley Bridge, will have a small panel who will shortlist and decide the winner then present the award, a certificate and cheque for £100 for the group at its Annual General Meeting on 13th November 2024.
The award is open to all groups, however small or large, newly formed or long established, and High Peak CVS encourage everyone to apply.
The closing date for applications is
23rd October 2024.

2023 award Winners
First Place
The Hummingbird Project A community powered clothing bank and community support hub who provide preloved and new items of adult, baby and children's clothing, as well as home furnishings, toiletries, work wear, school uniform and baby items such as prams and cots. They run off the motto of ‘Give what you can, Take what you need' which we think is incredibly poignant and emphasises just how much they want to give back to the community and therefore, deserving winners of the Crompton & Woodcock award.
Second Place
Hadfield Coming Together A local inclusive group aiming to bring the Hadfield community together to help and support people through poverty or times of need. They enhance opportunities and learning to create a healthier and more responsible lifestyle, including healthy eating, budgeting, recycling etc. through regular signposting and activities.
Third Place
Youth Matters CIC An incredible not-for-profit that provides a range of services and opportunities for young people in the community who are socially excluded due to social, emotional or financial disadvantage.
